The fifteenth Alabama used to be put within the Alabama Brigade less than common Evander McIver legislations (with the 4th, forty fourth, forty seventh and forty eighth Alabama regiments) on 19 January 1863.
It fought in the course of the struggle in Virginia other than whilst it used to be transferred to the West with Braxton Bragg's military, fought at Chickamauga (19-20 September), the place it misplaced 19 killed and 123 wounded, out of 425 engaged. within the fierce fights at Brown's Ferry (27 October) and Lookout Valley, the regiment misplaced 15 killed and forty wounded. At Knoxville (17 November-4 December), 6 have been killed and 21 wounded.
The fifteenth surrendered one hundred seventy males at Appomattox. Of 1633 at the rolls, over 260 fell in conflict, 440 died within the provider, and 231 have been transferred or discharged.
